Job Description
Support K-12 students in achieving their academic and behavioral goals by working in classrooms, resource rooms, and specialized settings. Schools in the Pittsburgh area are seeking reliable and flexible substitute instructional assistants who are ready to step into various educational environments and support certified teachers during short- and long-term absences.
This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for education, availability for on-call assignments, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing classroom needs.
Qualifications:
At least 48 college credits or an Associate’s degree
OR a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Credential of Competency for Paraeducators
Experience with children or students in educational or childcare settings preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow instructions, manage classroom materials, and support students with a variety of learning needs
Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers in delivering instructional materials and lessons
Provide academic and behavioral support to individual students or small groups
Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and lunch/recess periods
Help maintain a safe and positive classroom environment
Support students with special needs as directed by special education staff
Carry out assignments in general education, special education, or inclusion classrooms as needed
