Working Location Manager for Scrap Yard

Position Overview:

The Location Manager oversees daily operations and staff at a ferrous and non-ferrous scrap recycling facility. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, integrity, and work ethic, ensuring efficiency in material handling, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include managing warehouse, drive-through, and yard operations, coordinating with trucking partners and retail customers, and performing general labor as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Bilingual communication and exceptional customer service.

Manage daily site operations, inventory, and logistics.

Respond promptly to calls, texts, and emails.

Supervise, train, and evaluate staff while enforcing safety and compliance.

Partner with HR on performance and disciplinary matters.

Ensure OSHA, environmental, and company standards are met.

Track KPIs, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications:

3–5+ years of management or supervisory experience in recycling, scrap metal, or industrial operations.

Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with yard or warehouse equipment (loaders, forklifts, shears, balers, etc.).

Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and hold teams accountable.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental safety standards.

Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment.

Proficient with basic computer and reporting tools (email, spreadsheets, KPI tracking).

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
