Purpose Statement
This job reports into the Head: Credit Book Control and Recoveries, and assumes responsibility for maximising Stage 3 recoveries and impairment releases and minimising Stage 3 recovery costs and impairment raises for Capitec Business (“CB”) and Capitec Rental Finance (“CRF”). This will be achieved through:
Assuming accountability for providing strategic direction to Legal Recoveries’ personnel, operations, data application, recovery tactics, litigation, insolvencies, outsourcing and campaigns; and
Ensuring the optimal realisation of collateral securing the non-performing loan portfolios of CB ad CRF.
Experience
Minimum:
8 – 10 years in a banking / legal environment comprising of at least
4 years at a managerial level and
4 years in a Recoveries space
Managerial experience in Capitec Bank Limited or another financial institution in the same
Qualifications (Minimum)
Bachelor's Degree in Law or Commerce
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
A relevant post-graduate qualification in Commerce or Business Administration
Knowledge
Minimum:
Up-to-date knowledge of legislation and regulations relevant to the Collections and Recoveries environments
Up-to-date knowledge of the Credit Risk regulatory requirements
Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
Basel II
Banking and Financial Services Industry
Strategic credit risk management
Advanced knowledge of the debt collection processes
Entire credit life-cycle
Broad business knowledge and acumen
Advanced knowledge of the National Credit Act, 2005; the Insolvency Act, 1936; the Companies Act, 2008; the Administration of Estates Act, 1965; and the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
