Responsibilities
The Opportunity
The R&D Product Development Associate Analyst supports formula development and validation for the Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD) platform. The role involves benchtop experimentation and close collaboration with cross-functional R&D teams such as Product Development, Quality Assurance, Sensory, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercialization Engineering. The analyst contributes to innovation, productivity, and Technical Brand Stewardship (TBS) projects across the LATAM Beverages division.
Additionally, this position manages laboratory operations, including procurement and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and provides technical support for the pilot pasteurization unit. The role is essential to ensuring safe, stable, and compliant formulations while advancing the broader R&D objectives of the organization.
Your Impact
As R&D Product Development Associate Analyst your functions would consist of:
Execute benchtop activities such as prototype development, formula creation, specification generation, and validation, following PepsiCo R&D protocols to ensure safe and compliant formulations.
Meet project objectives for timelines, quality, and performance as outlined in the Annual Operating Plan and Global Innovation Brief.
Maintain laboratory facilities and inventories, ensuring raw materials and supplies are updated, properly stored, and documented.
Manage purchase orders in SAP, from creation to goods receipt, and support equipment maintenance, calibration, and site management activities.
Ensure strict compliance with laboratory safety and quality policies.
Support the qualification of new materials and suppliers in alignment with R&D standards.
Conduct physical-chemical analyses of product samples and compile competitive benchmarking data for commercial beverages.
Qualifications
Who Are We Looking For?
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or another related technical field.
Around 6 months of experience in laboratory or technical environments (internships or academic projects are welcome!).
Advanced English skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and virtual teams across LATAM and global R&D hubs.
Strong organization and communication skills, and a genuine curiosity for learning and innovation.
A self-starter attitude with proactive problem-solving, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and flexibility to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
