Description:

The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg is Europe's largest solar research institute. Our approximately 1,400 employees work toward a sustainable, economical, secure, and socially equitable energy supply system based on renewable energies. We contribute to this goal with our research priorities in energy supply, energy distribution, energy storage, and energy use. Through outstanding research results, successful industrial projects, spin-offs, and global collaborations, we are shaping the sustainable transformation of the energy system.

Our department "Sustainable Synthesis Products" at Fraunhofer ISE focuses on the Power-to-Liquids concept, which involves the conversion of "green" hydrogen from renewable electricity into sustainable energy carriers, chemicals, and fuels. In addition to efficient transport and storage properties, liquid energy carriers provide the opportunity to offer an alternative to fossil energy sources in sectors that rely on the use of carbon-based fuels. To achieve energy-efficient and economical production of sustainable synthesis products, our group investigates innovative process concepts based on the raw materials CO2 and hydrogen in laboratory and pilot plants.

For our "Synthesis Products: Separation Processes and Production Technologies" group, we are looking for a student assistant on the topic "Chemical Analysis for Sustainable Aviation Fuels" to start as soon as possible.
