Entry Level Substation Civil Designer

This position is in the Power Delivery Northeast Civil/Structural Substation Department, with offices in the following locations: Freeport and Augusta, Maine; Foxborough, Massachusetts; Syracuse, New York, Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Columbus, Ohio.

Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of one of the offices). **Roles and Responsibilities** + All aspects of electrical civil design including permitting support, site design, foundation design, structure design, and control building design.

+ The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience + Preparation of drawing packages to satisfy client and code requirements + Occasional travel will be required **Required Education/Experience** + Associates/technical degree in an accredited drafting program, or sufficient industry experience + Three (3) years civil design/drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment + Ability to successfully participate in multiple projects concurrently + Mechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail + The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members + Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S.
