This position, located within the Bureau of Technical Assistance (TA) and Practice Advancement (PA), plays a pivotal role in advancing statewide Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) efforts. Under administrative direction, the role focuses on delivering strategic technical assistance, strengthening provider capacity, overseeing grant and contract compliance, and championing evidence-based practices to promote positive outcomes for Ohio’s youngest children and their families.
Technical Assistance Leadership:
Serve as DCY’s subject matter expert on IECMH implementation through technical assistance and workforce development strategies.
Lead collaboration across DCY divisions, programs, and service providers to ensure TA aligns with best practices and is informed by data.
Build and facilitate partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, future-focused ECMH technical assistance.
Gather stakeholder input, facilitate meetings, and support initiatives that expand access and promote equity in early childhood services.
Stay current on research and evidence-based strategies related to social-emotional development and IECMH.
Coordinate cross-sector efforts to strengthen service networks and address systemic access barriers.
Develop and disseminate training materials, guidance, and communication tools tailored to provider and family needs.
Provide policy and procedural clarification and support TA planning in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
Promote local continuous quality improvement initiatives across the IECMH landscape.
Grant & Contract Oversight + Data Analysis:
Assist in managing grant agreements and contracts for DCY-funded IECMH programs, ensuring alignment across child-serving systems.
Monitor program compliance with policies, procedures, and state regulations; offer TA and training to support local implementation.
Support provider capacity assessments and develop strategies for timely service access, especially in Early Intervention.
Collect and analyze data to identify service gaps and recommend responsive solutions.
Document provider activities related to service delivery, recruitment, and workforce retention.
Pay Information:
Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.
