Location: South Gloucestershire (near Bristol)

Salary: £38,000 per annum + approx. £3,500 tips/service charge annually

Hours: Full-time Permanent 48 hours per week

The restaurant holds multiple awards for culinary excellence and is recognised for its refined yet personal hospitality.

The hotel’s kitchens champion seasonal, locally sourced produce — including ingredients grown in their own kitchen garden — to craft elegant, contemporary dishes served across the restaurant, afternoon teas, and private dining. The property also hosts select weddings, events, and Sunday lunches, making for a varied and rewarding kitchen environment.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Junior Sous Chef to join an accomplished brigade of chefs in one of the UK’s most unique country house hotels. Working closely with the Head and Sous Chefs, you will help drive standards, support menu development, and lead by example across prep and service.

Your Role

Assist the Head and Sous Chefs in overseeing daily kitchen operations

Prepare and deliver dishes to an award-winning standard across multiple services

Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency at all times

Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal dishes

Take responsibility for sections during service and lead junior chefs when required

Maintain strict food safety and health & safety standards

Train, mentor, and motivate team members in line with kitchen values

Demonstrate professionalism, precision, and calm leadership under pressure

About You

Proven experience as a Junior Sous or strong Chef de Partie in a 3 AA Rosette or Michelin Guide standard environment

A passion for modern British cuisine and local, seasonal produce

Strong organisational and leadership skills

Creative flair with attention to detail and a desire to progress

Calm, mature, and composed nature with excellent communication skills

A true team player with a professional approach and commitment to quality
