Financial Lines – Senior Underwriter

This Underwriter role will be an ideal next step in your career if you already have some relevant experience in insurance – or this could be your entry into underwriting if you have transferable skills.

The Financial Lines - Senior Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of Financial Lines insurance products, including Directors and Officers (D&O) Liability, Professional Indemnity/Errors and Omissions (PI/E&O), Cyber, Commercial Crime, Financial Institutions, Initial Public Offering (IPO), Kidnap and Ransom, and other related lines. This role involves assessing complex risks, determining appropriate terms and conditions, and building strong relationships with brokers and clients.

How you will create an impact

This role will focuses on underwriting new and renewal Financial Lines business in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and authority levels for Indonesia.

You will be responsible for evaluating and pricing complex risks through analysis of

financial statements, company performance, and industry trends, ensuring sound underwriting decisions.

You will collaborate closely with claims, actuarial, and other internal functions to maintain portfolio quality, ensure compliance, and deliver effective client outcomes.

Your relationships with brokers will be key to your success. You will need to provide excellent service to brokers through a consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting. You will also aim to generate new business by expanding your broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market – in line with a sales plan established with your manager.

Another key aspect of the role is the provision of accurate monthly management information including submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.

What you’ll need to succeed

Some underwriting experience is preferred; however, you are welcome to apply if you have other relevant professional experience.

The ability to analyze financial statements.

Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills.

Good organizational and time management skills.
