Senior Product Developer & Technical Designer

Location: London

Contract Type: Permanent

Work Pattern: Full Time and Hybrid

About the Job

We’re seeking a senior product developer with strong data engineering skills and a growing capability in technical design. You’ll contribute to the delivery and evolution of the Integrated Reporting Layer (IRL) — our operational data warehouse that powers business-critical reporting, regulatory submissions, and analytics.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and analysts to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines, frameworks and structures. While this role is delivery-focused, you'll also have opportunities to shape technical solutions, explore modern tooling, and strengthen your expertise in enterprise data architecture.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their technical skills, contribute to strategic platform initiatives, and work in a highly collaborative, agile environment.

What you’ll spend your time doing:

Data Engineering & ETL Development

Build, maintain, and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines and frameworks

Contribute to the development of reusable framework components within the IRL platform.

Participate in efforts to integrate new data sources and maintain business logic across datasets.

Technical Design & Solution Development

Collaborate with the Data Engineering and Requirements teams to understand potential impacts on current solution designs for new engagements.

Provide inputs and design authority over proposed changes to the platforms and datasets for new engagements.

Create prototype solutions to incorporate into delivery plans.

Translate business requirements into data transformation logic and data models.

Contribute to the documentation of technical designs, mappings, and platform processes.

Stay current on tooling updates and support evaluation of new tools and practices.

Data Quality & Testing

Implement and maintain validation and reconciliation tests to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Support continuous testing efforts, including test automation where applicable.

Help investigate and resolve data defects, contributing to root cause analysis.

Collaboration & Delivery

Work closely with product owners, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Learning & Growth

Continue to build your understanding of data architecture, data warehouse frameworks, and cloud-based data tooling.

Take part in team knowledge-sharing sessions and support best practice development.

Mentor junior engineers as appropriate and contribute to team capability uplift.

What you’ll need:

For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have. These include:

Significant experience in data engineering or BI development, ideally within cloud-based environments.

Working knowledge of dimensional modelling and Kimball methodology.

Comfortable working in agile development environments, using version control (e.g. Git) and CI/CD workflows.

Strong attention to detail and ability to write clear, well-structured documentation.

Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We are stronger together because of our common interests and rich differences. You may be the strength we didn’t know we needed. Believe in yourself, and click apply today!
