Position Summary:

This role provides support to the AIDS Program by offering housing information, referrals, advocacy, and related services to individuals and families. The position ensures services are delivered in alignment with RVCC and program goals, objectives, and procedures, while maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines. Additionally, the role represents the Housing Program in the community, fostering connections and promoting access to resources that support client well-being and stability.

Job Responsibilities:

To competently provide housing information and referral services for HIV/AIDS consumers

To provide support services to assist program participants concerning locating and accessing safe, affordable housing

To provide assistance to program participants completing housing applications or various related paperwork in a timely manner

To arrange for appropriate services to assist program participants in maintaining independent living, such as budgeting, accessing parenting skills training, or other skills' guidance, etc., suitable to the clients individual situation

To provide outreach services to assist program participants in using and accessing needed community housing services, including arranging or providing transportation

To provide or ensure that English/Spanish written and/or verbal interpretation for Spanish-speaking clients of all ages and their families/significant others is provided when necessary

To competently provide or arrange to have education provided to program participants and families/significant others concerning HIV/AIDS transmission and risk reduction in accordance with appropriate age-related guidelines

To maintain an updated caseload spreadsheet to ensure that annual assessment, annual inspections and any other task with a deadline is done within the appropriate time frame

To assistant in maintaining a library of educational materials for the program by working with HIV/AIDS community resources and other available instructional resources

To work at multiple sites serviced by the program

To organize and maintain accurate client records, in accordance with RVCC procedures, requirements of any applicable funding source, and appropriate regulatory guidelines. Assist Supervisor with reports and program audits to funders as needed.

To advocate for and provide support to individuals and families

To conduct annual apartment inspections to ensure that clients in program subsidized units are living in safe and sanitary conditions according to HUD guidelines

To maintain housing database current by inputting client information monthly while completing annual assessments in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

Education Level - High School or GED

Years of Experience - 6 months working with HIV/AIDS infected or affected clients or underserved populations, including housing searches, negotiations, and related support activities

Skills/Abilities - Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; negotiating skills; good memory for names and locations; knowledge of the local geographic area; recordkeeping skills; organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to work independently; computer and clerical skills; good customer relations skills; ability to handle multiple tasks; ability to relate well to people of all ages and their family members; knowledge of learning principles applicable to different ages and culturally diverse backgrounds; knowledge of available community housing, transportation, and educational resources available for HIV/AIDS individuals and families and underserved populations; ability to deal calmly with any special or emergency situation that may develop with a client

Summary of Benefits:

Salary Range: $ 18.25 - $24.25

Based on years of experience, level of education, specialty and licensure/certifications. Additional Compensation for advanced education for qualifying positions.
