Greenspace is an ecologically sustainable exhibit house, and we are looking to ADD to our TEAM!

We’re seeking an Exhibit Builder/Carpenter Apprentice. This apprenticeship blends foundational carpentry skills with specialized training to construct and install custom displays for trade shows and commercial retail spaces. You’ll collaborate with a team of builders to fabricate event displays and related projects, ensuring adherence to project standards and deadlines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Learn and work under the guidance of experienced carpenters to gain practical, hands-on training.

Effectively work with a team to construct assigned projects from start to completion.

Accurately interpreting drawings, able to convey to the team working on the project.

Successfully create a cut list and compile a materials list from drawings of an assigned project.

Prepare and organize materials and equipment for upcoming projects.

Fasten, glue, and join parts using appropriate fasteners and joinery techniques; reinforce components for stability.

Regulate material usage to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency on projects.

Safely operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials.

Assist in assembling and installing exhibit components, including booths, staging, custom structures, and architectural millwork.

Transport, set up, and install displays at various locations, including travel as required.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; adhere to site safety protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

Basic carpentry skills preferred; some prior experience with hand and power tools is beneficial.

Manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination.

Attention to detail with precise measurements and meticulous workmanship.

Physical stamina to perform demanding, hands-on tasks (standing, kneeling, lifting).

Teamwork and collaboration with builders, designers, and installers in a fast-paced setting.

Hours Of Work:

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.

Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

This position is subject to mandatory overtime during peak seasons.

Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Preferred Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

1 year of relevant experience in building, woodworking, or demonstrating abilities within these skill sets.

Preferred experience in the exhibit and trade show industry.

Safety awareness; familiarity with job site safety practices.

May require forklift certification and/or the ability to obtain such certification.
