Experienced Warehouse Techs & Material Handlers

Job Description

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring experienced Material Handlers and Warehouse Techs for an industrial plant in Minden, LA. These are temp-to-permanent positions, and you will need to complete a face-to-face interview before being hired. You will also need to pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen. You will be responsible for operating a forklift and transporting materials throughout the facility, and you may be responsible for operating other motorized equipment in the work area. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, working day shifts.

Pay is $15.40 - $24.31/hour depending on experience. Weekly pay by direct deposit.

Job Duties:

Load and unload trucks

Operate a forklift while transporting materials throughout the facility.

Operate other motorized equipment in the work area.

Perform proper daily equipment safety checks on equipment.

Transport material to designated areas throughout facilities.

Load and unload sensitive electrical equipment.

Transport oversized construction material.

Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as eyewear and steel-toed boots.

Perform proper daily equipment safety checks and notify the maintenance supervisor of any suspected problems.

Follow the proper procedure for equipment refueling operations.

Obey company rules regarding safe and effective equipment operations.

Perform other tasks as directed.

Job Requirements:

Be able to stand for long periods of time and also sit for long periods of time when operating the forklift.

The job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, and holding arms at shoulder height for an extended period of time.

Uses both hands to lift, place, and manipulate material

Able to lift long and awkward parts weighing up to 50lbs. repeatedly during the day.

High school Diploma or GED

Able to operate a forklift or have some forklift experience.

Basic math skills

Problem Solving / Analytical ability

Perform calculations

Ability to communicate both written and oral

Interpersonal and organizational skills

Mechanical aptitude

Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and must do a face-to-face interview before being hired.
