Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) PER DIEM provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to patients in the pre-operative and post-operative phases of ambulatory surgery, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Operative Care:
Conduct thorough patient assessments.
Prepare patients for surgery, including medication administration, IV fluids, and patient education.
Obtain informed consent and ensure all pre-operative requirements are met.
Coordinate with surgical team to ensure a smooth transition to the operating room.
Post-Operative Care:
Provide post-anesthesia care, monitoring patient recovery and vital signs.
Manage pain and address patient concerns.
Prepare patients for discharge, providing clear instructions and follow-up care.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth patient transitions.
General Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Provide patient and family education as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a surgical setting, or ambulatory surgery center experience required.

Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
