About the job Nurse Practitioner
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive physical examinations and take patient histories to assess health status and identify conditions.
Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, develop treatment plans, and provide follow-up care.
Prescribing Medications: Prescribe medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and make referrals to specialists as needed.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated and coordinated care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Compliance: Adhere to all relevant legal, regulatory, and organizational policies and procedures.
Continuing Education: Stay current with advancements in medical practices, guidelines, and procedures through ongoing education and professional development. Qualifications:
Education: Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
Licensure: Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in Kansas
Certification: Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
