Electrical Controls Process Engineer – Multi-Site Manufacturing $100K–$125K + Bonus Travel-Heavy Role

Location Options: Mount Airy, NC or Jacksonville, FL

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $100,000–$125,000 base + 10% annual bonus

Relocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidates

Travel Requirement: 60–75% across 11 facilities in 9 states

Work Environment: Hands-on, industrial manufacturing floors (non-climate controlled)

About the Opportunity

We’re hiring on behalf of a leading manufacturer with operations across the U.S. for a Electrical Controls Process Engineer to lead a small team and drive electrical and controls projects across multiple facilities. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments and enjoys solving complex electrical challenges on the factory floor.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of 3 electrical engineers

• Organize and delegate project priorities across facilities

• Troubleshoot and program PLCs, drives, and motors

• Create and maintain electrical schematics and drawings

• Install and optimize equipment across 11 facilities

• Conduct arc flash studies and ensure compliance

• Collaborate with plant teams and operators in real-time

• Be available for on-call rotation while maintaining a 40-hour workweek target

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (ABET-accredited)

• 5+ years of hands-on troubleshooting and programming experience

• Strong knowledge of PLCs, schematics, AC/DC drives, and AutoCAD

• Experience in industrial manufacturing environments

• Willingness to travel extensively and work in non-climate controlled settings

• Leadership experience or potential to lead a small team

• Candidates with less experience may be considered at the lower end of the pay range if they have strong factory-floor exposure
