Job Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits professional to direct the implementation of payroll and benefits processing, absence management, and wellness initiatives. As the Payroll & Benefits Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Supervising payroll and benefits staff.

Assisting agency management staff with payroll, absence management issues, and providing technical assistance.

Advising payroll and benefits staff on complex Payroll, Disability, FMLA, Health Benefits, and Wellness questions/issues.

Assisting agency managers and staff with timekeeping issues.

Managing bi-weekly payroll processing, including system interfacing from Kronos to OAKS.

Coordinating health and wellness events (e.g. health fairs, flu clinics, biometric screenings).

Providing oversight of timekeeping and payroll issues and auditing payroll entries to ensure compliance.

Interpreting human resources policies and rules and providing technical advice regarding Ohio Administrative Code (OAC), Ohio Revised Code (ORC), Federal Rules and Regulations (e.g. ADA, FMLA).

4 yrs. exp. in human resources.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration; 24 mos. exp. in human resources which included 12 mos. exp. in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Human Capital Management Senior Analyst, 64613.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
