The Digital Transformation and AI Department (DTN-IA) creates, integrates, and manages all IT applications for one of the most efficient hospital information systems to support the clinical and logistical activities of the Geneva University Hospitals.

With a fleet of more than 12,500 workstations, 1,300 servers for more than 250 applications serving all staff, available 24/7, the DTN-IA manages an HR information system for the 13,000 employees of HUG and the 7 other Geneva institutions and a high-performance ERP for the most complex logistical and financial processes.

The DTN-IA creates an integrated patient record at the forefront of the sector and contributes to the influence of HUG thanks to its recognized functional richness and close collaborations with all health professionals and their cross-functional departments.

In addition, the DTN-IA integrates cutting-edge and everyday biomedical equipment as well as specialized applications for all medical-technical platforms.

The role of the DTN-IA is to support daily activities and build the future of a modern and efficient hospital, according to the strategic axes of the Institution, based on best practices and the most demanding standards.

Job Description You will strengthen the strategic area of Master Data Management (MDM) as a data engineer.

You will work closely with the MDM manager to ensure the quality, governance, integrity, and availability of master data used by more than 250 applications within the institution.

As a data specialist, you analyze functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

You are responsible for integrating reference data into the MDM solution, while defining and managing the flows upstream and/or downstream of the platform.

You configure the MDM solution in compliance with current standards, while ensuring the quality of the work carried out and its impact on patient care.

In a cross-functional approach, you collaborate with the DTN-IA development specialists to ensure the reliability and performance of the MDM platform as well as its technical components, by facilitating the integration of the repository into the various business applications.

You will review existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to the dissemination of best practices in the development and management of repositories.

You will lead the platform's user community, working with the DTN-IA teams, and participate in studies conducted across the DTN-IA to contribute to the overall development of the institution's information system.

You demonstrate curiosity and ensure technological monitoring to enrich your skills and anticipate developments in the field.

Qualifications Holder of a Master's degree in computer science or a diploma deemed equivalent, you have at least five years of experience in data engineering, in a complex environment, and have already participated in an MDM project allowing you to fully understand the issues related to repository management.

You are proficient in data engineering and have advanced SQL skills.

You also develop in Java and/or Python, which allows you to communicate effectively with development specialists.

Knowledge of Semarchy application, distributed architectures based on microservices, and ideally Kafka is an asset.

In terms of relationships, you stand out for your ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

You prioritize clear and constructive communication, promoting the exchange of best practices, mutual support, and continuous improvement within the team.

You know how to explain technical concepts in simple terms, listen actively, and understand business needs.

You adopt a rigorous and thoughtful approach, ensure data quality, and manage priorities professionally.

You demonstrate autonomy in researching information and you adopt a solution-oriented approach.

You enjoy taking on challenges in a demanding and complex environment.
