We are seeking a highly skilled microLED display architect to join our microLED Team in Regensburg, Germany.
This role is ideal for an individual with a demonstrated experience in both microLED display technology and ASIC backplane design.
You will serve as a technical bridge between the backplane and microLED teams, driving innovation and ensuring optimal performance across our next-generation display products.
This role involves leading the display panel architecture, from ideation to mass production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical strategies, conduct simulations, and address challenges like power consumption, and system-level performance for applications such as augmented reality, wearables, and high-resolution displays
Responsibilities:
microLED Display Architect Responsibilities:
Act as the subject matter expert for both uLED display and ASIC backplane technologies within the team
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peer engineers and cross-functional partners
Interface closely with both the backplane and display teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of design goals
Define and translate system-level requirements into actionable engineering tasks
Define, measure, and analyze key display performance and quality KPIs
Identify and address factors impacting display panel performance, reliability, and manufacturability
Lead the design, development, and optimization of uLED display panels. Drive the evaluation and selection of materials, architectures, and processes to maximize display performance
Collaborate with ASIC backplane design, including architecture, layout, and performance optimization to ensure delivery of high-quality displays
Define and track µLED panel KPIs, ensuring alignment with overall display system requirements
Troubleshoot complex issues at the intersection of display and backplane technologies
Propose and implement solutions to improve product quality and performance
Qualification and experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in display design, with a focus on uLED and/or ASIC backplane technologies
Understanding of display performance metrics, drive conditions and the factors influencing them
Demonstrated capability to manage, analyze and communicate large complex datasets effectively and summarise findings to a variety of stakeholders
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively within cross-functional teams

Experience with high-volume manufacturing of display or backplane components
Familiarity with display system integration and end-to-end product development
Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication processes and/or mixed signal design
Prior experience in a lead engineering role
