Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in NY requiring a current NY license, strong IV skills, and cardiac drip experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
Shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Required to work every other weekend and holiday
Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5
Float to Med/Surg units as needed
Patient population includes those requiring telemetry, cardiac drips, and wound care management
Responsible for managing cardiac drips, reading telemetry/EKG strips, and providing comprehensive wound care
Additional continuing education will be completed during orientation
Limited holiday time-off will be accepted
Travel nursing experience is preferred
Requirements
Active NY RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIH Stroke Certification required before start
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience preferred; less may be considered with strong cardiac drip and telemetry skills
Strong IV skills, experience with cardiac drips (such as Cardizem), EKG interpretation, and wound care required
Flu vaccine required or declination accepted with mask usage
Completion of 8 hours of CEUs as part of orientation
