VEHICLE MECHANIC

Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic Wage/Hour Status: Non Exempt

Reports to: Shop Supervisor Pay Grade: Auxiliary PG 9

Dept./School: Transportation Contract Days: 227

Primary Purpose: Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on vehicles in a safe, efficient and

effective manner. Provide safe transportation for those that ride/drive E.C.I.S.D. vehicles.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Have or obtain a Class A CDL with proper endorsements

Good driving record

Pass D.O.T. physical, pre-employment drug test, background check

Possess your own tools

Be certified, or obtain certification, to perform state vehicle inspections

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to diagnose and repair district vehicles

Experience:

Five years of vehicle repairs with diesel/gasoline engines

Six years of general driving experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Assist with carrying out the responsibilities and duties associated with maintaining a safe and efficient district vehicle fleet.
