PRE-SCHOOL TEACHER

Purpose of Role

A strong commitment to enhancing the educational experience of students through innovative and engaging teaching methods. This position requires a dynamic individual who is adaptable and able to connect with students of varying learning styles and backgrounds, as well as ensure the educational program supports the mission, vision and beliefs of BSI.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Planning and Delivery:

Design and deliver effective lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and standards.

Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning.

Classroom Management:

Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom environment.

Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and student engagement.

Address and resolve classroom issues in a timely and professional manner.

Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding.

Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and provide targeted support.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.

Student Engagement and Motivation:

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and collaboration.

Use motivational techniques to inspire students and promote a love of learning.

Recognize and celebrate student achievements and milestones.

Professional Development:

Engage in continuous professional growth and development through workshops, conferences, and other learning opportunities.

Stay current with educational research, trends, and best practices.

Reflect on teaching practices and seek feedback for improvement.

Communication and Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Build and maintain positive relationships with students and their families.

Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance the educational experience for students.

Curriculum Development and Implementation:

Contribute to the development and refinement of the school's curriculum.

Ensure that instructional materials and resources are current, relevant, and aligned with curriculum goals.

Adapt and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.

Ethical and Professional Conduct:

Adhere to the school's policies, procedures, and code of conduct.

Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and responsibilities.

Uphold the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.

Extracurricular Involvement:

Participate in and support school events, activities, and extracurricular programs.

Serve as a role model and mentor to students outside of the classroom.

Encourage student involvement in extracurricular activities to promote well-rounded development.

Student Support and Well-being:

Provide academic, social, and emotional support to students as needed.

Identify and address individual student needs and challenges.

Collaborate with school counselors, special education staff, and other support services to ensure student success.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will possess and be able to demonstrate:

• Bachelor s degree in Early Education (Pre-school).

• Previous teaching experience preferred

• IB knowledge preferred

• Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching methods

• Excellent skills in communicating and collaborating with staff
