West Side manufacturing company is currently seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a precision-driven environment, and has hands-on experience bending complex parts, working with tight tolerances and reading detailed fabrication drawings. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high quality, finished components with minimal supervision.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3-5 years of press brake operation experience in a custom or precision metal fabrication environment
Proficient in operating CNC press brakes (e.g., Amanda, Trumpf, Acccurpress, Bystronic) with an emphasis on Trumpf and reading complex shop drawings
Solid understanding of bend allowances, tooling setups, and material behaviors (steel, stainless, aluminum, etc.)
Comfortable performing custom setups, including forming irregular or non-repetitive parts
Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality and detail
Proficient with standard measuring equipment and able to maintain tight tolerances
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic shop environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up, program and operate CNC and manual press brakes to form complex metal components from engineering drawings and customer specifications
Interpret and verify detailed blueprints, part drawings, and fabrication sketches to ensure accurate setups and bends
Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machine programs based on material type, thickness and part geometry
Perform custom setups for small batch or one-off parts, with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust as needed
Maintain critical tolerances and part quality using appropriate measuring tools (calipers, protractors, height gauges, etc.)
Collaborate with engineers, welders and fabricators to resolve issues and ensure a smooth production flow
Maintain accurate production and quality records; report any non-conformance
Perform routine machine maintenance and communicate mechanical issues proactively
Support continuous improvement by offering input on process optimization, tooling selection and quality control
Uphold all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift (up to 50 lbs)
Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust and fabrication equipment
