We’re looking for a Head of Reward to join our team based in London. At HCA UK, our Reward team plays a pivotal role in shaping a culture where our people feel valued, recognised, and supported. Led by the Reward Director, this team is a centre of excellence for all matters relating to compensation, benefits, and recognition. Working closely with the Reward Director, Reward Analyst and Benefits Officer, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of the company’s total reward package You will also assist the Reward Director in the continuous strategic development of the company’s total reward proposition, ensuring that it remains relevant and competitive, so that the company continues to attract and retain the best talent to deliver exceptional patient care.
As our Head of Reward, you’ll be a subject matter expert in Reward and provide guidance and advice to the business on all matters relating to recognition, benefits and compensation. The Head of Reward is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the Reward function along with the Benefits Officer. The Head of Reward will assist the Reward Director in the continuous development of HCA UK’s Reward strategy and will be required to carry out market research and report on market trends and will be responsible for delivery of key Reward initiatives. .

What you’ll do:
Reward Department Oversight: Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the Reward department, including:
Pensions auto-enrolment
Job evaluation
Salary benchmarking
Compensation systems
Benefits programmes
Recognition schemes
Leadership & Strategic Support:
Deputise for the Reward Director as required
Manage and support the continuous development of the Benefits Officer
Assist in the ongoing development of HCA UK's Reward strategy and policies to support talent attraction and retention
Lead key Reward projects across the Division and report progress to the Reward Director
Job Evaluation & Advisory
Lead the company’s job evaluation process
Provide expert advice and guidance to the wider HR team on job evaluation matters
Market Research & Reporting
Conduct market research and produce reports on market trends and economic conditions
Present findings to the company’s Remuneration Committee (RemCo)
What you’ll bring:
Proven experience in a senior Reward role within a large matrix organisation
Skilled in managing flexible benefits and working with third-party providers
Proficient in HR systems (ideally Workday) and advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical, presentation, and project management capabilities
Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management
Able to lead others, manage multiple projects, and maintain discretion
Expert knowledge of salary benchmarking (e.g. Mercer, WTW), pensions, job evaluation, and compensation design
Good understanding of employee benefits and insurance products
Educated to A-level/Degree standard, confident with data and numbers
Reward accreditation (e.g. CIPD AARM) desirable
Professional, accountable, and solutions-focused with a keen eye for detail
