Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise LPNs, NAs, and orientees while covering the charge nurse duties, including patient assessments and care management.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.

Identify patient teaching needs and goals by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record promptly and accurately.

Participate in the rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care following the nursing process.

Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.

Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.

Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while ensuring team efficiency.

Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.

Assume charge responsibilities as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.

ACLS required prior to the first shift.

Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Charge nurse experience is required.
