The weekend custodial and float position is a position that requires someone that is detail oriented, has good time management skills and is organized.

This position must be flexible with 10 hour days on Saturday and Sunday with remaining hours on M-F.

The weekend work makes a huge impact on the Luther College experience for students and others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide weekend custodial support in both academic and residential buildings * Assist in maintaining building appearance which consist of all areas including lobbies, entrances, classroom, offices, hallways, breakrooms, auditoriums, conference rooms, staircases, study lounges, restrooms and shower rooms * Duties will consist of but not limited to: * Unlock/lock building and tum on/off lights * Sweep * Mop * Vacuum * Empty trash receptacles and dispose of trash * Clean glass * Dust surface areas * Disinfect fixtures * Assist with set-ups for campus events * Snow removal * Maintain outside entrances year round * Recycling * Help in maintaining grounds * Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Will be in charge of weekend student workers EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS: * Education: High School Diploma and/or equivalent preferred but not required * Experience: One year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience * Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college * Training on blood borne pathogens and proper procedure for clean up on hazardous/infections material according to OSHA specifications will be required.

* Ability to drive and pass MVR check PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Mobility: walk or stand for extended periods of time * Lifting: ability to lift and carry 40 pounds * Dexterity: must have full range of motion including bending, stretching, lifting and kneeling * Must be able to work in buildings and spaces that may or may not be air conditioned * Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals, noise, dust and fumes * Required to work in restricted places that may require stooping, bending, kneeling * Buildings and grounds are smoke free
