Staff Accountant (Entry Level)

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. This entry-level role is ideal for recent college graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience, including internships. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a passion for contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Perform account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.

Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.

Prepare and maintain detailed documentation to support audits and compliance requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.

Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.

Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) to create and maintain financial models and reports.

Contribute to special projects as needed to support the accounting and finance team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - required.

0-2 years of relevant experience; internship experience in accounting or finance is highly valued.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional work ethic, proactive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.

Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) is a plus but not required.
