DUTIES
- Cooking food and preparing ingredients.
- Ensuring high quality of dishes is maintained.
- Maintaining compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assisting the Head Chef in developing menus, assessing expenses for food and labour, and ordering supplies when needed.
- Communicating and collaborating with other team members in both FOH and BOH.
- Training junior kitchen members as required by demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
- Inspecting and managing inventory to ensure freshness and minimise food wastage.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- At least 2 years of experience working in a professional kitchen as a chef.
- Needs to have experience in Japanese cuisine
- Solid understanding of traditional Japanese cooking techniques
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Diploma of Hospitality Management
- Able to prepare dishes with precision and attention to detail
- Strong attention and respect for safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
