About the Role:
The General Ledger Accounting Associate (Analyst II, Record to Report – GL EMEA/SA) is responsible for performing general ledger functions for assigned entities across EMEA and South America regions. This role includes preparing monthly journal entries, schedules, and reports to support the month-end closing process, as well as assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities. The position ensures compliance with internal controls, statutory regulations, and reporting requirements within a Global Business Services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
● Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial closing activities for assigned business units.
● Prepare journal entries with proper documentation and maintain organized records.
● Conduct analytical reviews of P&L and balance sheets to identify discrepancies and ensure completeness of transactions.
● Perform transfer pricing, intercompany, and vendor activities, including purchase order (PO) processing.
● Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate long-aged items, and coordinate resolution with Country/Regional Finance teams.
● Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports to support management review and decision-making.
● Maintain compliance with statutory and legal requirements; liaise with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries as needed.
● Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
● Support team members by serving as backup during absences and performing ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
● 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience, but open to fresh graduates of Accountancy.
● Strong understanding of accounting concepts and double-entry principles.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with SAP and Teradata preferred.
● Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (written and verbal).
● Highly meticulous, organized, and capable of working independently under pressure and tight deadlines.
● Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a strong sense of responsibility in achieving KPIs.
