Job Title: Registered Nurse – ER Holding / Observation Unit

Start Date: 12/01/2025

Duration: 16 weeks

Shift: Nights, 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Overview

Seeking an experienced ER Holding/Observation Unit RN to provide care across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Staff must have at least 2 years of nursing experience and be proficient in telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and critical care skills.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor patients in ER holding and observation units, including telemetry and stepdown care.

Administer medications, manage IVs, and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as per protocol.

Perform blood product administration, phlebotomy, and manage central/peripheral lines.

Manage ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, non-invasive airway devices (CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC).

Assist with renal, endocrine, orthopedic, and neurological patient needs, including insulin drips, CBI, and wound care.

Collaborate with rapid response and interdisciplinary teams.

Maintain accurate documentation in Epic.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2 years

Patient Ratio: 1:4

Certifications:

Required: BLS, ACLS

Preferred: PALS, NIHSS

Skills:

IV therapy and phlebotomy

Telemetry/dysrhythmia recognition and management

Stepdown care and PCU experience

Blood product administration

Tracheostomy and airway management

Wound care/Wound Vac

Call Required: No
