Volunteer Coordinator Intern (Hybrid/In person)

Location: Ohio-based

Commitment: Approx. 25 hours/week. Saturday availability Required

Do you have a passion for animal rescue and a knack for organizing and motivating people?

Fairytales Tiny Tails Rescue is looking for a creative, proactive, and organized individual to coordinate and grow our volunteer network. This is a volunteer leadership role where your efforts will directly impact how we support vulnerable kittens and small animals in Ohio and beyond.

We’re a nonprofit committed to rescuing and rehabilitating the tiniest tails who deserve a second chance at life. Behind every rescue is a community of dedicated volunteers-and we need a leader to nurture and expand that vital team. Role Description

As the Volunteer Coordinator Intern, you will be the heart of our volunteer program-managing recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and communication. You’ll work closely with other team leaders to ensure volunteers are engaged, appreciated, and matched with roles where they can thrive.

This internship is eligible for college credit, and you will receive full recognition for your work, including letters of recommendation and acknowledgement on our platforms to help build your professional portfolio. Key Responsibilities

Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers across fostering, transport, events, fundraising, and more

Maintain volunteer records and communication channels with professionalism and warmth

Schedule and coordinate volunteer shifts and activities to maximize participation

Collaborate with rescue team leads to align volunteer efforts with organizational needs

Develop creative ways to engage and appreciate volunteers regularly Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organization and time management

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment

Comfortable with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms) and email communication

Passionate about animal welfare and community engagement

Previous nonprofit or volunteer coordination experience is a plus but not required What You’ll Gain
