The Opportunity
We are strengthening our R&D Science Capabilities to fuel our growth ambitions in Skincare, Sun Care & Hair Care. Reporting to the Manager of Active Innovation & Applied Research, you will be responsible for creating, developing, and ensuring the scientific substantiation of innovative cosmetic formulations. Brands that you will serve are Rabanne, Uriage, Apivita, Barbara Sturm, Loto del Sur, Kama Ayurveda, and Charlotte Tilbury.
What you'll get to do
Lead science-driven innovation programs and contribute to the category’s strategic axis
Maintain continuing awareness of scientific and technological advances relevant to the cosmetic field
Build and maintain a deep understanding of categories, market dynamics, competitor activities and evolving scientific and consumer trends
Read and track relevant bibliography to support innovation and research monitoring
Write and support patent applications by preparing scientific documentation that supports innovation strategies and secures novel cosmetic technologies
Create and support the writing of scientific posters, articles and presentations for congresses and internal sharing, showcasing key research findings and ingredient performance
Design galenic systems to optimize stability, efficacy, and sensorial experience
Work with formulation teams to develop galenic systems suitable for scale-up and product integration
Test new ingredients and run experimental plan
Identify and engage with suppliers to assess new technologies and raw materials
Evaluate formulas, highlight product performance, conduct risk analysis
Coordinate and support product testing to confirm formulation efficacy, ensure safety and regulatory compliance
Coordinate homologation testing and data monitoring for ensuring high quality level and development feasibility
Prepare, review and change laboratory Standard Operating Procedures
We'd love to meet you if you have
5-7 years' experience in formulation for the skincare and/or suncare category
Master's Degree or higher in Science (Chemistry, Cosmetic Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy or Chemical Engineering)
Spanish and English, French is a plus
Passion for the skincare category
Understanding of cosmetic product attributes and consumer insights related to skincare product development
Understanding of trends, markets, competitors and beauty categories
Working knowledge in physical testing and analytical methods
Familiar with global cosmetic regulations and cosmetic GMP
Strong oral and written communication skills required
Excellent organizational skills
