This position will be responsible for the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities to insure maximum contribution to the safety, quality and productivity of the plant.
Essential Job Duties
Perform medium voltage work, including tasks involving substations and motor control centers.
Operate and understand multi-meters and meggers.
Complete electrical controls work, such as installation, removal, troubleshooting, and repair of motor drives and related components.
Create sketches to document modifications to existing electrical controls.
Conduct pipefitting required for process control systems.
Execute field welding related to electrical installations and modifications.
Carry out field burning (oxygen-acetylene) as needed for electrical installation, removal, or modification.
Operate mobile equipment necessary for material and parts placement, including lift trucks, winches, cranes, and trucks.
Ensure work areas, equipment, and practices comply with regulatory codes, statutes, and company requirements.
Report all injuries immediately to the senior engineer, regardless of seriousness.
Advise the senior engineer on matters concerning the safety and ongoing functionality of plant equipment and facilities.
Assist in developing written safety procedures for jobs performed within the maintenance department.
Perform work consistently according to established standards.
Verify that completed work meets job specifications.
Advise the senior engineer on issues relating to maintaining coke quality and workmanship.
Recommend improvements in operation or maintenance of plant facilities through changes in materials, equipment, procedures, or schedules when possible.
Ensure compliance with all plant procedures or guidelines, including those related to safety, personnel, timekeeping, payroll, and attendance.

Requirements
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree or related certification preferred.
Two years' electrician experience.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged sitting or standing at a computer.
May work outdoors in harsh or changing weather.
Occasionally lifts or moves items up to 35 pounds.
Works in confined or elevated spaces.
Handles petroleum coke products; uses respiratory protection.
Uses hand tools.
Loads/unloads heavy equipment manually or using machinery.
Trains in facility safety procedures.
Moves around to coordinate tasks.
May work weekends or evenings occasionally.
Must travel and be on call as required.
Able to communicate verbally or in writing to share information and instructions with contractors and co-workers.
