Job Description Summary

The Department of Social Sciences invites applicants for all semesters for part time adjunct teaching positions. These are semester to semester positions primarily

teaching introductory sections of the following areas, both in person and online.

Anthropology

Economics

General Social Sciences

Geography

History

Political Science

Psychology

Sociology

Social WorkThe Social Sciences prepares students for careers in multiple areas that focus on human interaction. Majors, Minors and GEP courses in the Social Sciences enable students to better understand their place in the world by connecting personal experience to past and present features of society. The Social Sciences include the above programs. The Department values open ended inquiry, critical dialogue and a commitment to respect for diversity in all aspects.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in the subject or closely related area

A willingness to engage students thoughtfully and critically in the subject area

Ability to communicate clearly to students

Basic knowledge of instructional software and ability to teach online courses

Ability to work closely and effectively with diverse populations in all aspects
