JOB TITLE: Deskside Technician DEPARTMENT: IT RESPONSIBLE TO: IT Manager POSITION: * Full time position, 40 hour position * Monday- Friday Shifts * On Call requirements POSITION SUMMARY: The Deskside Technician is responsible for providing technical support to end-users, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

They install and configure hardware and software, perform routine maintenance tasks, troubleshoot network connectivity issues, and provide training and guidance to end-users on how to use hardware and software effectively and efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS: * Required: High School Diploma or equivalent * Preferred: Associate or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus * Preferred: CompTIA A+ or Familiarity with ITIL and other industry best practices for technical support and incident management ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Provides technical support: The Deskside Technician is responsible for providing technical support to end-users, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

* Installs and configures hardware and software: The Deskside Technician installs and configures hardware, such as desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripherals, as well as software, such as operating systems, productivity software, and specialized applications.

* Performs system maintenance: The Deskside Technician performs routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, security patches, and backups, to ensure that hardware and software are functioning properly and data is secure.

* Troubleshoots network connectivity: The Deskside Technician troubleshoots network connectivity issues, including wireless and wired network connections, VPNs, and remote access.

* Provides training and guidance: The Deskside Technician provides training and guidance to end-users on how to use hardware and software effectively and efficiently.

* Maintains inventory: The Deskside Technician maintains an inventory of hardware and software assets and tracks their usage and availability.

* Documents technical issues: The Deskside Technician documents technical issues and resolutions in a ticketing system, including the nature of the problem, the steps taken to resolve it, and any follow-up actions required.

* Follow security protocols: The Deskside Technician follows established security protocols, such as password policies and data access controls, to protect the confidentiality and integrity of data.

* Collaborates with other IT staff: The Deskside Technician collaborates with other IT staff, such as System Administrators and Helpdesk Technicians, to resolve technical issues and implement new technology solutions.

* Stays up-to-date with technology: The Deskside Technician stays up-to-date with new technology trends and best practices to ensure that the organization's technology infrastructure is current and efficient.

* Provides after-hours support on a rotating basis as required.

PREFERRED SKILLS: * 3+ years of experience in technical support or related role, * 3+ years of experience VMWare VDI, and Server environments, * Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and Google Workspace Experience with Thin client and zero client topologies Strong understanding of IP based phone systems Strong understanding of network topologies and Microsoft printing services KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Strong knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting and problem-solving.

* Experience with Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office and other common productivity software.

* Familiarity with mobile devices, such as iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.

* Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

* Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions.

* Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines on daily work and special projects.
