Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour

Job Summary:

Alliance Group is seeking full-time Controls Technician Apprentice based in Essex Junction, VT to join our growing Controls team.

The Controls Technician Apprentice will be field-based and responsible for assisting with installation, maintenance, and troubleshoot low-voltage electrical systems. This person must demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as an aptitude for problem solving, time management, customer service, and be a team player. We are willing to train the right person!

Key Responsibilities

Safely perform low-voltage electrical installation and maintenance routines with a senior technician

Review blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures

Assemble and install building automation equipment, fixtures, using a variety of industry recognized methods with the use of hand or power tools

Mount and terminate devices, run conduit, and pull wire on a wide variety of systems

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems

Wear and maintain all required safety equipment (PPE) at all times

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

Maintain records, including apprenticeship logbooks

Determine the right tools and equipment necessary to successfully complete a job

Clean the job site after the work is completed

Essential Qualifications and Competencies

Experience in the electrical field and construction is desired but not required

Must be an energetic and enthusiastic collaborative team player

Must be able to follow directions from a senior technician

Knowledge of Build-Ops platform desired

Strong interpersonal communication skills

High level of reliability, follow-through, discretion, and integrity

Must possess proactive, positive problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills both written and oral

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis

U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory

Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license.

A background verification and motor vehicle check will be required.

A pre-employment post-offer Human Performance Examination is required for this position.
