Joining ScottishPower as an Application Analyst, you will deliver expertise in functional domain, implement, and maintain the specific application/module and coordinate/deliver third level application support in line with agreed SLA’s and business needs.
You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality application solutions are configured, developed, thoroughly tested and successfully implemented to ensure application solutions being delivered align with business requirements.
What you’ll be doing
As an Application Analyst, you will be:
Aiding in the development of application solution requirements and in the formulation of associated costs.
Ensuring that the scope of any application design takes account of the full systems lifecycle, covering issues such as Security, Controls, Data Migration, User Administration, Disaster Recovery, etc.
Actively controlling all assigned tasks in a hands-on manner, track progress, identify and manage risks and issues and ensure delivery of work to time, budget and appropriate quality vs. functional and non-functional requirements.
Working to configure/develop application solutions against design specifications and blueprints in accordance with agreed standards and procedures provided by Solutions Architects, complete Unit, and Integration testing of work products in line with agreed processes ensuring completion within allocated timescales.
Delivering regular release items (problems and requests) understanding business requirements and completing the design, build, testing and deployment of functional components, and work with 3rd parties, as required, to ensure that they are delivering against their obligations.
Co-ordinating/providing third line application support as required, in line with agreed SLA’s and in compliance with the defined support processes and support the acceptance and implementation of new functional solutions into the production environment and handover to operational support: ensuring relevant support documentation is available.
Working with the appropriate parties to help define application solutions that are consistent with the overall design requirements of the UK IT Division and that recognise the Group Technology Blueprint.
Liaise with project delivery teams and external contractors as required, with responsibility to ensure solutions meet specified goals/requirements, while providing advice on the Application Solutions to UK IT technical teams and projects.

As a minimum, you will demonstrate:
HND or Degree level qualification in a relevant subject.
A recognised Solution Analysis and/or Systems Design qualifications.
Experience in applications development, with project management expertise.
Experience of IT systems project delivery.
Maintain high-level awareness of IT Infrastructure developments.
Experience of design modelling and document management tools.
Confident in risk assessment and management.
Bringing a broad understanding of integration requirements across diverse applications portfolio.
A creative approach to issues resolution and risk management.
Strong communications skills to build effective relationships with key stakeholders, locally and globally.
Ability to translate potentially vague business problems into application n solutions
The ability to prioritise and control multiple streams of work.
Preferred but not essential:
Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.
Experience with GIS, preferably ESRI.
