Responsibilities include:
Forecasting and budgeting for the division, including revenue and selling expenses
Forecasting and budgeting for fixed operating expenses across all departments
Ensuring that all selling expenses are provided for and recorded in the correct periods
Maintaining general oversight of sales and marketing division figures across various reporting tools
Maintaining the selling cost rate table for actuals, forecast and budgets on Microsoft NAV
Reporting on and analysing variances to budget, forecast and prior year
Preparing monthly sales and fixed operating expense reports
Preparing monthly sales commentary
Maintaining general ledger recons
Supervising staff
Preparing journals
General ledger recons
Sales Forecast and Budgets
Operating expenses: actual, forecast and budget
Sales reporting, analysis and commentary
Financial Reporting
Sales and distribution cost rates
Providing support on an ad-hoc basis to the HOD, CFO, Sales Director and Sales Managers
Responsible for supervising the Assistant Accountant
Overseeing various financial and management reporting tools
Establishing and maintaining automated templates for mechanical reporting requirements if required
Requirements:
B.Com or relevant tertiary qualification
An aptitude for IT, computer literacy with a high degree of proficiency in MS Excel
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
CIMA (or similar) affiliation beneficial but not essential
