Utility Technicians

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring Utility Technicians and Warehouse Workers/Laborers for an industrial plant in Minden, La. These are temp to permanent positions and you will need to do a face to face interview. You will also need to pass a criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Day shifts Monday thu Friday.

Pay is $15.40 - $24.31/hr. depending on experience. No per diem is offered.

Job Duties:

•Operate a forklift while transporting materials throughout the facility.

•Operate other motorized equipment according to work area.

•Perform proper daily equipment safety checks prior to equipment operations and notifies maintenance supervisor of any suspected problems.

•Follow proper procedure for equipment refueling operations.

•Remove, store, or dispose of excess material and waste.

•Load and unload trucks

•Know the layout of facilities and work areas.

•Transport material to designated areas throughout facilities.

•Load and unload sensitive electrical equipment.

•Transport oversized construction material.

Job Requirements:

•Able to stand on concrete 100% of the time, often 10 hours a day.

•Job involves twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, holding arms at shoulder height for an extended period of time.

•Uses both hands to lift, place and manipulate material

•Able to lift long and awkward parts weighing up to 50lbs. repeatedly during the day.

•High school Diploma or GED

•Able to operate forklift.

•Basic math skills

•Problem Solving / Analytical ability

•Perform calculations

•Ability to communicate written and orally

•Interpersonal and organizational skills

•Mechanical aptitude

•Job requires clarity of vision, with or without corrective lenses for inspection and repair.

•Color determination is required when identifying paint colors and wires. Employee is exposed to seasonal temperatures.

•Will need to pass a criminal background check, drug screen and must do a face to face interview before being hired.
