BILINGUAL SOCIAL SERVICES LIAISON

Universal Creighton Charter School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Bilingual Social Services Liaison to work in a K-12 setting in Northeast Philadelphia, PA.

Essential Functions: * Perform all related duties in the five focus areas of the Family Student Resource Centers * Student and Family Health - Collaborate with the school's team to address any heath related barriers utilizing the Student Health Centers, and educate parents on the services that are available through the Center * Adult Education - Offer GED and post-secondary options for parents and adult stakeholders, including but not limited to Harcum and Community College of Philadelphia * Post-Graduation Support (High School Only) - Tracks and monitor graduates for a period of up to one year, through documented monthly outreach (e.g., telephone calls, home visits, conferencing) in order to identify the barriers to the realization of the scholar's post-secondary plan and help the graduate problem solve to reduce or eliminate the barrier * Parent Education - Design and coordinate at least two (2) parent workshops/classes every month * Professional Development and Growth - Participate in monthly professional development opportunities that are offered by the Central Education Office * Collaborate with school administrators, guidance counselors, health center staff and other stakeholders in helping students and families make the best use of available opportunities and resources * Facilitate and support parental understanding of scholars' academic achievement and attendance as a means of dropout prevention * Understand, and abide by, federal, state and local laws, such as child protection/child abuse, special education, attendance and truancy, education rights and privacy Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/ university in human services, social work, or a related field * 2 years full-time, paid, professional experience in human services, social work, behavioral/mental health, or related field * Must have access to reliable transportation * Must be bilingual Universal Companies/ Universal Family of Schools adheres to the policy of providing equal employment opportunities to all job applicants and employees regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, veteran status, disability or sexual orientation.
