Location: Carlisle

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (Saturday overtime available)

Pay rate: £12.60 per hour

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

We’re recruiting for a Workshop Operative to join a busy and successful manufacturing business in Carlisle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is mechanically minded, and wants to be part of a growing and supportive team.

The role involves assembling complete mechanisms and working across various stages of the production process. You’ll be joining a business that values quality, teamwork, and reliability, offering long-term stability and the chance to learn new skills.

Key responsibilities:

Assemble and fit mechanical components to create complete systems

Operate hand tools and light machinery safely and efficiently

Inspect materials and finished products for accuracy and quality

Assist with packing, loading, and general workshop duties

Keep the workshop area clean, tidy, and well organised

Follow health and safety procedures at all times

Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets

About you:

Previous experience in a workshop, assembly, or manufacturing environment preferred

Confident using hand tools and following assembly instructions

Good attention to detail and a strong focus on safety and quality

Physically fit and comfortable with practical, hands-on work

Reliable, motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team

Willing to work occasional Saturday overtime when required
