Description

Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized assessments and keen observational skills.

Create tailored treatment plans focusing on individual short-term goals while addressing broader communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.

Deliver one-on-one speech therapy that emphasizes communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing strategies.

Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to develop holistic care strategies.

Educate patients and families to bolster progress outside of clinical settings.

Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring smooth care transitions throughout every stage of treatment.

Keep meticulous documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.

Engage in continuous education and peer discussions to stay abreast of advancements in the field. Education

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA certified. Certifications

Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting the role. Skills

Expertise in evidence-driven treatment methodologies for all age groups, and a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Ability to modify therapeutic techniques to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Strong clinical problem-solving and judgment skills.

Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols. Benefits
