Lab Technician - Metals

Position: Lab Technician.

Location: Orillia, ON.

Pay Rate: $29 per hour.

Industry: Manufacturing Production/Foundry/Metallurgical.

Employment Term: Full-time/Permanent.

Shift: Rotating Shift (Days, Afternoons and Overnights on a two-week rotation).

Roles & Responsibilities:

Preparation of samples using a variety of abrasive saws, a pedestal grinder, and surface grinders

Maintain full product traceability as per ISO and department standards.

Evaluate chemical analysis results for compliance and specification.

Ensure compliance with quality standards in Lab activities.

Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

Post-secondary education in Chemical, Metallurgical engineering or a related field.

Certificates and/or training in Health and Safety or related courses a definite asset.

1-2 years of lab experience evaluating samples and/or chemical processing and preparing reports.

Laboratory experience with metals processing equipment a definite asset.

Able to work a rotating shift (days, afternoons and overnights on a two-week rotation).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
