Area:

Environmental, Health, Safety & Quality (EHSQ) is a HUB team that interacts regionally and globally with different business units and sites, providing services related to ecology, hygiene, safety, and quality.

EHSQ is divided into two main areas: Product Safety – which provides support to businesses to ensure that products comply with health and safety regulations and standards – and Site EHSQ – which provides support to work sites to operate safely.

Main Objective of the Position:

The Product Safety Services Analyst plays a key role in processing requests for Safety Data Sheet (SDS) creation, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering them within established timelines while maintaining high-quality, customer-oriented service. This includes handling processes related to R&D samples, waste management, and commercial products under the scope of the Product Safety Services team.

Main Tasks:

Maintain chemical product properties and characteristics in the ERP system (SAP).

Accurately classify chemicals based on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) classification method.

Create and distribute Safety Data Sheets according to specific country regulations and BASF’s established procedures.

Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities or regional stakeholders as required.

Develop and keep process documentation updated.

Support tracking activities, assist with Management of Change (MoC) processes, analyze KPIs, and contribute to improvement initiatives.

Minimum Education and Qualification Requirements for the Position:

Education: Advanced university student or graduate in Chemistry, Science, Engineering, or another similar technical discipline.

Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience in EHS, regulatory areas, product compliance, or related fields.

Languages: Advanced proficiency in English.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with GHS for chemical classification and labeling is considered an asset. Basic knowledge in data analysis is desirable. Experience with SAP is highly valuable.

Soft Skills:

Customer-focused, with the ability to quickly understand client needs and meet expectations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, teamwork, and collaboration.
