Arnall Golden Gregory LLP ("AGG"), an Am Law 200 law firm with offices in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to support our D.C. office who will provide high-level paralegal support to a team of affordable housing attorneys in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of four (4) years' experience as a transactional real estate paralegal in a law firm setting.

Position Reports to: Human Resources Manager, DC Administrative Partner, Real Estate Practice Group Co-Chairs, and Real Estate Paralegal Coordinator

Overall Responsibilities:Primary duties will include, but are not limited, to the following:

Organize documentation for financing and government review submissions

Title and survey due diligence, including review and analysis of title commitments, title documents and surveys to identify title objections, as well as interacting directly with Title Agent and Surveyor to facilitate revisions of title and survey

Organize and manage closing processes, including creating and compiling signature pages and coordinating their execution and distribution; tracking signature status and ensuring timely completion and delivery to all relevant parties

Manage corporate due diligence processes

Draft real estate acquisition and disposition closing documents

Draft entity formation documents, such as articles of organization, certificates of limited partnership, articles of incorporation, bylaws and operating agreements

Draft consent resolutions, incumbency certificates, interest transfer documents, and similar

File and document organization and maintenance: create new folders and maintain existing folders utilizing an automated records management system; organize files for off-site storage, as well as perform active file maintenance and organization

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients to ensure the expeditious gathering of facts and information

Assemble closing binders

Daily client contact

Overtime will be required on occasion

Other duties/tasks as assigned

Required skills:

Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing and managing priorities and meeting deadlines

Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Excellent organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to manage complex closing processes and prioritize tasks

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, including document automation tools and other legal tech platforms

Education and Experience Requirements:

At least 4 years of experience as a real estate paralegal in a mid-size or large law firm familiar with typical real estate documentation and due diligence, closing processes, and corporate filings.

Bachelor's Degree or ABA approved paralegal certificate highly desired

Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe software programs, with familiarity in using document management systems and electronic signature platforms

Mental/Physical/Environmental Requirements

Indoor offices with controlled temperatures with limited exposure to noise, dust, chemicals

Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor

May sit for long periods of time

Crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting occasionally

Operating a personal computer, telephone, voicemail, and other office equipment on a regular basis

Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word

Must have the ability to convey detailed information in a clear and concise manner through spoken and written words

Must demonstrate good problem-solving skills

FLSA Status

Non-Exempt

HOURS - FULL TIMEMonday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., with 1 hour lunch

SALARY RANGE

$85k-$130k based on experience level

LOCATIONWashington, DC onsite preferred.
