POSITION SUMMARY:
The Private Label Business Development Lead supports the business development function of all the generic medicines for the NorthStar and Aisling private labels, including translating the output of the Portfolio Management process into credible business development opportunities, supporting the identification of strategic generic suppliers to enter into negotiations, support deal valuation and negotiations and executing deals to bolster the New Product Launch process of the various Private Labels. This role will focus on all molecules in the generic space, including injectables, oral solids, liquids & suspensions, inhalants, topicals and other dosage forms. providing detailed analysis and recommendations in business development, operations and strategic planning.
Primary responsibility for supporting both product and supplier portfolio growth, generating growth strategies for new markets and channels, and therapeutic classes. Consistently developing and managing relationships with other McK channels. The role is based in London, UK or Cork, Ireland, and reports to the Director, Private Label Business Development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Business Development
Play key role in supporting the growth strategy to expand the Northstar product portfolio
Provide support to Director, Business Development on business development activities including,
Build new and continuously improve existing economic models to evaluate business opportunities including customized analysis to allow for varied deal structures. Build a deep understanding of McKesson's business model. Engage with the PL Commercial Intelligence team to prepare financial reports and dashboards to enable data analysis and insight generation
Perform analysis in response to competitive market activities for pipeline and commercialized products to recommend actions to management
Business cases preparation for new product launches for management approval
Create product schedules for new products added to contracts
Develop and support the private label supplier value proposition
Responsible for tracking and reporting of NorthStar supply partner performance
Drive analysis of new molecules, markets, niches, and channels to expand the business portfolio.
Lead all Cost negotiations for products under your management
Work closely with commercial book management team to support current product lifecycle management
Support production of long-range planning for all the generic molecules across all of McKesson’s private labels, including building scalable and automated analytic tools for sensitivities, FP&A and variance analysis.
Support the preparation of all executive management presentations and recommendation of actions to management
Including quarterly All Hands, Annual Operating Budget, LRP, monthly MGPS update, Operating Review, Insurance underwriter presentation, annual strategy presentation, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION
Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree. A Masters Degree in relevant field or MBA a plus
Specialized Knowledge/Skills
Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Co-Pilot and Agentic AI
Experience creating reports and business metrics
Business Experience
4 years’+ of work experience in sourcing, business development, or business intelligence ideally within the broader healthcare or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries or relevant industry experience
Strategic Thinking: ability to evaluate industry trends, support development developing long-term implications and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities, and developing business plans with a strong pro forma
Analytical Rigor: the ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations
Financial Acumen: understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning, budgeting, and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning, and price management to maximize shareholder value
Communications Skills: the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively
Healthcare Knowledge (Preferable): knowledge of industry stakeholders particularly supply partners, trends, economic drivers, and policy across healthcare.
