Our client has a fantastic permanent Multidisciplinary Therapy Assistant (Band 4) : Permanent vacancy based in Berkshire and Hampshire.

J800008219 Multidisciplinary Therapy Assistant (Band 4) : Permanent Locations: Berkshire and Hampshire 2 x vacancies Salary: GBP24 000 : GBP27 000 per annum Hours: Full Time : Term time 8:30:4:30pm.

Client Group: Therapy services to children 0:18 years.

Client is a multi:professional therapy practice, providing specialist therapy services to children 0:18 years.

Children attending their centre and the schools they serve present with a variety of diagnoses, including, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, Speech and Language delay/disorders, attachment and trauma difficulties, global developmental delay or neurological disorders.

They ensure the child is at the centre of every action.

They provide comprehensive assessments and individually tailored treatment plans.

This vacancy will involve direct work with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other complex needs, as listed above.

The purpose of the role is to support therapists, including Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists in the provision and further development of high:quality therapeutic work.

The post holder will implement a range of therapy interventions and produce therapy resources under the guidance of the relevant therapist.

Job Role: *To facilitate individual and group sessions either with the therapist or under the direction of the therapist.

*To understand therapy goals and aims and how to measure outcomes of therapy.

*To write therapy goals to help scaffold therapy sessions under supervision of an *occupational therapist or speech and language therapist.

*To provide feedback to the therapist on the progress of the therapy programme *where the therapy assistant is delivering the package.

*To liaise with parents and school staff in relation to needs and progress of the *children on your caseload.

*To prioritise your own workload, work independently and use your own initiative to complete day to day tasks.

Seek support and assistance where required.

Supervision will be provided.

*To be receptive to and deliver information which requires sensitivity, diplomacy and confidentiality.

To maintain and use technical skills including: *Use of a computer/laptop to access and maintain confidential records and to produce clinical resources.

*Use of digital/video cameras and software to produce resources.

*Use of communication aids if appropriate.

*To develop a working knowledge and understanding of specialist therapy intervention techniques where relevant and required, e.g., Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Intensive Interaction, sign language.

*To keep confidential records up to date in line with current clinical, service and professional standards.

*To assist therapists in the preparation of training materials and to develop aspects of training with therapists.

Qualification: *Recognised training in special educational needs *Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs *Evidence of attendance at specialist courses relevant to paediatric therapy *A good level of technical and literacy skills.
