What you will do

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for creating impactful web experiences? NSERC is seeking a talented Senior Digital Content Strategist to join our team!

Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough research and analysis to understand our audience’s needs and preferences, developing comprehensive content strategies, and overseeing the creation and optimization of web content. With a focus on user experience, search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and brand consistency, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance our online presence.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and editing skills, a deep understanding of user experience (UX) principles, strong analytical skills, and experience with web design, content management systems (CMS) and HTML/CSS. Project management and collaboration skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to stay up to date with the latest trends and emerging practices in digital content creation and marketing.

What you need to succeed

Education

A university degree in a relevant discipline (i.e., information systems and design, library studies, information management, digital media design, communications), or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience related to the responsibilities of the position.

Experience in creating and managing website content, including writing and editing text

Experience in user experience (UX) principles

Experience with search engine optimization (SEO), analytics and user engagement data.

Experience with web design, content management systems (CMS) and HTML/CSS.

Experience in project management and collaboration

Knowledge

Knowledge of the Government of Canada Digital Standards.

Knowledge of the Canada.ca Design System, which includes the Canada.ca Content Style Guide and the Canada.ca Content and Information Architecture Specification.

Knowledge of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).

Basic knowledge of digital marketing concepts.
