We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Superintendent to be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment on job sites. This role ensures that machinery is functioning safely and efficiently while leading a team of operators and maintenance personnel to meet project deadlines and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment on site.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Manage project schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Oversee workforce management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations of equipment operators and maintenance staff.
Conduct regular inspections and quality control assessments on equipment and job performance.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all heavy equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.
Manage equipment rental agreements and budgets to optimize resources.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Superintendent or similar role in construction or mining industries.
Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety compliance standards.
Experience in project management and workforce management.
Excellent scheduling and team leadership skills.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
Familiarity with construction management principles and practices.
