Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

What you’ll be doing:

Undertake ISO 9001 (and AQAP 2110) audits to a high standard

Undertake assigned quality investigations to a high standard, typically following the 8D methodology

Lead the closure of correction, root cause / corrective and improvement actions

Undertaking assurance activities such as quality process confirmations and compliance checks as part of the businesses 3 lines of defence model

Liaison with third party auditors such as Lloyds Register and customer

Implementation of quality tools and techniques across the business and coaching others on their use

Support cost of poor quality activities, helping to realise sustainable benefits

Support the implementation of Zero-Defect Culture/Right First Time across the business

Your skills and experiences:

Internal auditor qualified with IRCA Lead auditor qualification advantageous

Strong quality management knowledge, particularly within the areas of quality and product assurance

In depth knowledge of management systems, including ISO 9001

In depth knowledge and experience of Quality tools and techniques

The Quality Assurance Team:

Senior Quality Engineer is a key and influential role within the Quality Function (approx. 23 professionals), reporting to a Lead Quality Engineer within the wider Quality Assurance team (approx. 12). The role involves engagement with all areas of the business, regular contact with process owners, governance leads, heads of functions and Sector / Group

The role offers an exciting opportunity to undertake assurance of the Naval Ships business management system, driver our compliance to ISO 9001:2015 QMS requirements and undertake root cause quality investigations across the Functions and Programmes using proven methodologies. The role has full exposure to all areas and all levels of the Naval Ships organisation
